Bad Experience With An Examiner?

Everyone and their friend has a horror story about feeling mistreated during a road test.

Driver examiners are supposed to maintain professionalism and impartiality throughout the test but the truth is, they're human too; an examiner having a particularly stressful day might be the difference between a pass or fail, so the last thing you want to do is get on their last nerve.

The number one thing that causes a Driver Examiner to lose their cool is:

Driving too slowly

The Driving Examiner has multiple road tests to complete throughout the day. An extra five minutes in the car may not seem like much to you, but it can affect the Driver Examiner's entire day. Too slow does not mean 5km/h below the speed limit. But travelling 20km/h below the speed limit can be just as dangerous as speeding, and will cause the Driving Examiner to lose their patience and negatively affect your test score. You may just be nervous or think overly cautious driving is the safest method of passing your test, but it's likely the Driving Examiner will believe you are incapable of operating the vehicle. This is not a suggestion for you to speed, but if weather and traffic conditions are clear, drive the speed limit.
